Yirgacheffe is located at the centralsouth area of Ethiopia. It is divided into six woredas (or districts) and is home to the most elusive and complex profiles Ethiopia has to offer.
Here the coffee is grown by small-holders: the Cooperatives, washing and drying stations are the collection points where all cherries are gathered for processing.
Worka is a small locality in the Gedeb district, a high-altitude location and much of the surrounding area lies at an altitude of about 2000 to 2200 masl. Here, coffee trees are shaded by a diverse range of fruit trees. In addition, it is a common practice for coffee growers to make homemade organic fertilizers to feed their plots, thus benefiting the local ecosystem and keeping the land healthy and balanced.
